Lumbini in Kapilvastu is the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha. It is one of the greatest pilgrimage sites for Buddhists. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site (Culture) and holds immense religious importance.

Lumbinī is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi district of Nepal,. It is the place where Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama, who as the Buddha Gautama founded the Buddhist tradition.
