Dhampus Village by Sahadev Byanjankar

Dhampus is a name of a outstanding village, situated at an altitude of 1750m above sea level, in the western Nepal. The village is very famous among tourists because it provides visitors with awesome panoramic views of Mt Dhaulagiri, Mt Annapurna, Mt Fishtail, Mt Himchuli, Lamjung Himal and many other mountains. It is just 18 km away from the beautiful city of Pokhara, in the north west. Almost 25% of the tourists who comes to Nepal, visit Dhampus and leave with many warm memories of the village and the its friendly people.
Dhampus is a gateway to Annapurna Conservation Area. It also serves as one of the the main entry points to the Annapurna Base Camp and other trekking trails of Annapurna Region. The journey to this beautiful village starts from Phedi village, a nearly 15-20 minutes drive from the beautiful lake city of Pokhara.

Gokyo lakes are located in Khumjung Village Development Committee of Solukhumbu District in Sagarmatha Zone in north-eastern Nepal. Gokyo Cho, also called Dudh Pokhari, is the main lake and the village of Gokyo lies on its eastern shore. As sources of permanent fresh water they have high hydrological value. They feed on waters from various sources, such as seepage from the Ngozumpa glacier, a stream coming from the Renjo La pass from north-west and another stream originating from the Ngozumpa glacier in the east. These are glacier-fed freshwater wetlands and discharge water to the Dudh Kosi headway via the Taujon Lake and the Longabanga Lake.
